We’ve all got those brands that we’d just absolutely love to work with, because they create outstanding products and services that would be such a fantastic fit for our readers. And maybe at some point in the future, they’ll reach out to you and be eager to discuss working together on a collaboration.
Remember though that you don’t have to just sit back and wait. Plenty of bloggers have great success with actively pitching to brands that they want to work with, and explaining how a collaboration could benefit the business. You’ll need some great content ideas, and you’ll need to be able to provide a great list of tangible benefits. It takes a little practice to get this right, but it can be seriously profitable.

Optimise your most popular posts
As bloggers, we often have posts that prove to be hugely popular. They might be getting a load of traffic from Pinterest, or be ranking high in Google for a popular keyword. These posts are your low hanging fruit, and it makes sense to return to them with fresh eyes to consider how they can help you on your quest to make more money blogging.
Consider any affiliate links that you can add to the post. Make sure that you’re linking to similar content, so you keep your readers on your site for longer, which can in turn increase your advertising revenue. You could also consider adding in an incentive to join your email list, so you can retain those readers and turn them into loyal fans. Ultimately, it’s all about making your best stuff really work for you in the most effective way possible.

Affiliate marketing is one of my all-time favourite ways to monetise a blog. You don’t have to have a huge amount of followers to make it work for you, and you get paid every single time you make a sale via your link. What’s not to love here? But maximising your earning potential means that you have to be committed to putting great content out there.
You can make more money blogging by choosing a key affiliate programme that you’re a member of, and writing a new post. Make sure that you optimise it for search engines, to increase your traffic and your clicks.
You could write a review of the product or service, or give five reasons why you like it so much, or include it in a round-up of your current favourites.
Search Twitter for opportunities that are relevant to your blog
Twitter is a great place to seek out opportunities for your blog, and brand representatives are active every single day of the week. It’s a fast moving environment though, so you have to be on the ball and quick to jump on anything that might be relevant to you.
Follow PRs who represent businesses you love, and keep an eye on hashtags such as #bloggerswanted, and #bloggersrequired. It takes just a few minutes to check in each day, and you could make some quality connections that lead to paying work for your blog.
Today, pinpoint any opportunities that would be great for your blog, and follow the instructions given by the poster. This usually involves simply replying to the tweet, or sending an email. If you do this regularly, it’ll almost definitely start to pay off fairly quickly.
